Videoconference Scheduling

What is Videoconference?

Videoconference (VC) is an instructional modality that uses teleconferencing technology, such as Zoom or Teams, to deliver instruction to one or more sites. VC classes are synchronous, offered at a specific day/time, and are ideally offered between WSU campuses or extension offices. VC courses are regulated by EPPM 14.

Chair Exception to WSU Videoconference/Zoom Policy

Exceptions to the VC policy, such as when the instructor or students will not be in a VC optimized classroom on a WSU campus or extension site, require approval by the department chair or director. The department chair/director will be emailed for approval.

VC Scheduling & Zoom links

The Pullman Registrar's Office Campus Scheduler team manages videoconference scheduling and creates Zoom links for all sites that meet EPPM 14. Zoom links are created under the instructor's account Zoom account and should not be altered without consultation with VC Scheduling. Zoom links are not typically created for Chair Exceptions or reasonable accommodations, though can be requested.

The VC Tool for Zoom Links

The VC Tool lists zoom links for videoconference classes during the current term. The tool is visible to department schedulers and site support personnel. User must be logged into their Smartsheet account to view content. The VC Tool is term specific and will open in a new tab.

Technical Support

Pullman Integrated Academic Technologies (PIAT) provides technical support when a VC course is taught in a VC (82) Classroom. Departments are responsible for providing technical support in department or non-VC (82) spaces. More information about GUC technology and support
